we no speak Americano

This Spring I was lucky enough to visit the Big Apple not once but twice. Ma petite soeur has been studying fashion merchandising there so I went to stay with her and then went back out a month later for her graduation. It is my favourite city in the world - it has an electric buzz yet a laid back anything goes vibe. Needless to say I had the best time. Here are some of the pictures I took.

CLOGAHOLICS ANONYMOUS

During my sabbatical from blogging I feel I have missed a great deal of things to report on. Namely the fact that clogs took over the world. Back in May I took this picture of my friends the clogaholics. C is rocking vintage Dior while K sports this year's Chanels. This post is dedicated to all you clog doubters and non believers!

The Last Emperor

Tell me you all saw the fly on the wall documentary which followed the legendary Italian high fashion designer. Following the steps of the King of the red dress in the emotional lead up to his final show at fashion week; The Last Emperor also documented his long time working partnership and personal relationship with Giancarlo Giammetti. It shows the blood sweat and tears that go into handcrafting couture gowns by his admirably patient team and one can see why couture is a dying art. I could happily spend every day watching the petite perma tanned dapper designer swanning around his yacht, jets and luxury homes in  Rome, Paris, London, Gstaad, Tuscany and New York with his equally beautifully turned out partner and 5 pugs. Not only were the visuals outstanding but it was charming to watch the higs and lows of his personal life and careers. A delectable piece of television If you haven't seen it you haven't lived!

It's been a long time - I shouldn't have left you..

Sorry for my long protracted absence somewhere along the last few months in the build up to summer and such life sort of get in the way and I've been royally rubbish with updating my blog. But I shall make a conscious effort to get right back into the swing of things - using a day off work with a nasty cough as a good place to start!

Erin Wasson brings sexy back modelling Lowluv

Knuckleduster - Lowluv by Erin Wasson

It  appears the new equivalent to the ubiquitous perfume deal is to launch a jewellery line. Celebutante Olivia Palermo, the perenially stylish Olsen Twins and rock chick model and Wang muse Erin Wasson have all jumped on the bling band wagon. As far as I know this is the first thing Ms Palermo has put her name to in a collaboration with designer Roberta Freymann. However Erin Wasson my goddess of sunkissed laissez faire already has her clothing line RCVA and the Olsens of course have been making waves with Elizabeth and James for a while now. Never ones to be missing out on any entrepreneurial opportunities they will be launching various pieces under Robert Lee Morris for Elizabeth and James. Watch this space for dagger necklaces and edgy accesories to toughen up their soft tailoring...
