Following the steps of the King of the red dress in the emotional lead up to his final show at fashion week; The Last Emperor also documented his long time working partnership and personal relationship with Giancarlo Giammetti. It shows the blood sweat and tears that go into handcrafting couture gowns by his admirably patient team and one can see why couture is a dying art. I could happily spend every day watching the petite perma tanned dapper designer swanning around his yacht, jets and luxury homes in Rome, Paris, London, Gstaad, Tuscany and New York with his equally beautifully turned out partner and 5 pugs. Not only were the visuals outstanding but it was charming to watch the higs and lows of his personal life and careers. A delectable piece of television If you haven't seen it you haven't lived!
