taste the rainbow

I'll admit it, I am seasonally fickle. My inner thermometer is totally contrary. This means I love nothing more than circling winter coats in September Vogue, dreaming of a frosty November in London, while reading a book pool-side in a Mykonian villa in August. Therefore come January I will be picturing myself in a festival tent or at a beach party wearing something summery and bright to maximize my tan. Basically despite feeling resentment for winter this year, this indicates all seasons must have their place and yeah for some reason that grass will always be greener on the other damn side. For this same reason despite the fact we haven't even got through Christmas yet my eager mind is already speeding towards SS12'S rainbow palette. Sorry, can't help it..

this is the return of the SPACE COWBOY

I am loving green of late, as Autumn is approaching too fast for my liking, I am drawn to shades of jade and emerald to give a sense of evergreen life to our backdrop of brown and amber tinged leaves. I want to go back to the future with green accessories and spacey cosmic prints. See my top picks below xoxo

It's a Gingham Thing

I was very interested to see Christopher Kane's use of gingham in his Ready to Wear collection for 2010. As if to prove he is not a one-trick pony and to invert people's expectations Kane has taken a dramatic u-turn from frightening larger than life gorilla prints and wildlife images to girlie gingham. Subverting our conservative associations with gingham check and luxe materials such as cashmere by giving us slash neck sweaters and gingham skirts with thigh high slits. Gingham is a thing once ubiquitous in childhood, the embodiment of perhaps a well-behaved little girl. However in adulthood it is a check scarcely seen. With Christopher Kane's influence gingham is set to become as pervasive next summer as the perennial plaid shirt has been for the past few seasons.
